Permanent exhibition

In the permanent exhibition of Huis van Hilde we exhibit a part of our archaeological collection, with beautiful masterpieces where people stand at the centre. Based on found skeletons, we constructed a number of lifelike human figures using the most modern techniques.

The permanent exhibition has recently been renewed. With the furnishing of a new wing full of finds from the 17th century, we now tell the entire chronological story of the history of the province of North Holland. Among other things, a cannon, two beautiful globes, a fine ship model, interesting sea trade finds from this period and two new human figures can be seen in our new wing.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, Huis van Hilde always has a temporary exhibition.

The finds in the display cases of the museum are explained in 3 languages: English, German and Dutch. Most videos are also available in 3 languages.
